Zip Code 78619 covers a fairly large area referred to as Driftwood. This area is a lot like Spicewood, or Zip Code 678669. Both are unincorporated areas that are referred to as if they were towns and each has its own Zip Code. Driftwood covers a large geograhpic area south and southeast of Dripping Springs. The center is where the roads of FM 150 W., Elder Hill Rd. and FM 1826.
Most Driftwood homes sit on at least one acre and although much of the area is quite rural, there are some very nice subdivisions in the area. Rim Rock Ranch is a master-planned neighborhood in Driftwood featuring nice homes on an acre or more. La Ventana is similar to Rim Rock and has many new homes. There are some pretty incredible homes in Vineyard Estates as well, which features some sites with frontage on Gatlin Creek.
Driftwood is home to the Salt Lick, a very well known barbecue restaurant in the Austin area.
