I apologize for skipping December with my pick of the month. There was a health issue with one of my family members that held my focus. The January pick is One World Theater.
One World Theater actually started out as an education outreach program. Their vision was to open the eyes of their students to the arts and to various cultures around the world. What it evolved into was a cozy setting in the hills in the hills west of downtown Austin that seats just 300 guests.

So you’re wondering what makes One World Theater special. First is the intimate setting and great acoustics. There really isn’t a bad seat anywhere. Not only can you hear everything, but you are close enough to see the action very well. Second is the artists who perform at One World Theater and they aren’t all musical acts. Past performers include Herbie Hancock, Alvin Ailey, American Dance Theater, McCoy Tyner, George Benson, Sergio Mendes, Stars of American Ballet Theater, Branford Marsalis, Cowboy Junkies, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Pat Metheny, Little Feat, Mercedes Sosa, America, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the California Guitar Trio and Jose Feliciano.
Recent performances include those by brilliant jazz/fusion bass guitarist Stanley Clarke, Global Percussion Masters, virtuoso jazz trumpet player Arturo Sandoval, the Eroica Trio, the dance of Tango Fire, the comedy of the Umbilical Brothers and Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal.

One World Theater is located on the south side of Bee Cave Rd. just a mile or so west of Loop 360. For information, visit www.oneworldtheater.org or call 512-32-WORLD.
I hope you will find this item of value useful. Look for another to come in October. Also, if you know of someone who new to the area who may like to receive these, just send me the name and address.
