Lake Travis Photo Album

For those of you from outside the Austin area, I want to give you an opportunity to see the beauty of Lake Travis.  Please take some time to take this photo tour.

Lake Travis is part of the Highland Lakes chain, which is a series of lakes along the Colorado River.  Lake Travis isn't the largest of the Highland Lakes, but it certainly is the most spectacular.  Clear water and limestone walls make for some very interesting water color on Lake Travis.  Being just 40 minutes west of downtown Austin, Lake Travis is an extremely popular destination for fun on the water.

If you feel like it, take a look at my Lakeway photo album.

These photos were taken by and are property of Sam Chapman, so consider them protected by U.S. copyright law.  Having said that, if you wish to use any of these on a website, please give appropriate credit and show my url, which is www.austinrealestateguy.com.

Lake Travis Videos

OK, you've seen the still shots.  How about a couple of videos that show a more panoramic view of Lake Travis?  The first one is the lake with normal settings on the camera.  I was at the Iguana Grill, which is just west of Austin on 620, this morning recording these.  It was cool and clear and the color of the water and sky were just perfect.  The second video I took from the same place at the Iguana with a little bit of telephoto.  I was following a boat and wanted to give viewers a little perspective.  Each video shows how Lake Travis undulates through the Colorado River basin.

The following is a video I took the other day (6-14-2008).  It is the beginning of a short helicopter tour over Lake Travis.  We took off and followed Lake Travis east.  We banked to the right while above the exclusive subdivision of Angel Bay and headed toward Lago Vista.  After flying another minute or so over Lago Vista we circled back around and landed back at the Reserve.

Now we end the tour and come in for a landing back at the Reserve at Lake Travis.
