The Lakeway Lake Travis Rotary Club is an outstanding organization of businesses professionals and volunteers. Rotary has made huge contributions to the community, both locally and in other parts of the world.
I was a member of the Lakeway Lake Travis Rotary Club from 2001-2010. I am a past Vice President and Board of Directors member. I was the Club's liaison to the Lake Travis High School Interact Club, a community service club for high school students for 9 years. I left the club at the end of 2010 for personal reasons, but was named an honorary member by the Board of Directors almost immediately.
Rotary has been very rewarding for me. I have met many great people and made many new friends. Being a part of Rotary has helped me to become more involved in our community. It has also helped me to better understand how powerful giving of yourself can be.
One of the great programs the Lakeway Lake Travis Rotary Club does is a car raffle to raise money for scholarships and other programs. Each year, the club awards between $30,000 and $40,000 in scholarships. Want to help support our efforts? Call me at 512-293-2422 to find out how you can win a Mercedes.
The Lakeway Lake Travis Rotary Club also sponsors 2 Lake Travis High School students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp every summer and I was the club's primary RYLA contact for 5 years. High school sophomores and juniors from all over central Texas attend the camp where they do a variety of activities to help them develop their leadership skills.
