There are communities close to, but not sharing much, if any, of a border with Austin that are very nice. Dripping Springs is to the west and has a lot to offer, especially if you're looking for acreage. Wimberley is south of Dripping Springs and is tucked in some magnificent Hill Country. Liberty Hill is northwest of Austin and offers anything from neighborhood homes to horse farms and homes on acreage. Buda and Kyle are south of Austin and just off Interstate 35.
Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay are northwest of Austin out a little farther in the Highlands Lakes chain. Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay will not be on the map as they are too far west.
