Travis Heights is a central Austin neighborhood bordered by IH35, Congress Ave., Riverside and Oltorf. Just south of Lady Bird Lake, Travis Heights is in a hot area known as SOCO, for South Congress. There is lots of shopping in an eclectic mix of stores like Lucy In Disguise, the best costume rental store in town. Travis Heights is close enough to downtown so the night life is very close by. This is another neighborhood that has seen 1920s era bungalows disappear and McMansions come in. However, the neighborhood has really retained its charm.
