Growth Along Hamilton Pool Road
Hamilton Pool Road, in northwest Travis County, used to be the road you take to get to the spectacular Hamilton Pool Preserve. It also used to be a place along which people bought acreage and build homes in order to enjoy the quiet and peaceful lifestyle. All of that is really that changing.
Rocky Creek is a new development going in at the southwest corner of Hamilton Pool and Crumley Ranch Roads. It will be about 500 acres and will have more than 450 homes. The homes will be upscale and will be priced from around $500,000 to around $1 million. The developer has access to LCRA water and this is what been driving growth up and down Hamilton Pool Rd. Although over half of the land is supposed to be saved as green space, many people aren't happy about the development. Wondering where this area is? Click HERE for a map.
A bit farther out Hamilton Pool Rd. is Belvedere. This was also developed as a result of the LCRA bringing water out Hamilton Pool Rd. Belvedere is an upscale development with acre+ home sites, many with excellent Hill Country Views. Homes in Belvedere start at around $700,000.
Also out that direction is Madrone Ranch. This is a development that has 71 miles of Equestrian trails that are accessible to all home owners in the development. A very horse-friendly development, home owners are allowed up to two horses.
If you go farther out and pass the turn for Hwy 12, Hamilton Pool narrows. Even on this part of the road are new developments. If you have the time, take a drive out that way and look at the area. Give it a few more years and it won't look the same.
