U.S. 183A & TX 45
Any Austinite who has a history of driving 620 from 183 to 35 or 183 beyond 620 knows how frustrating it can be getting through all the traffic lights. The folks who are building the toll roads U.S. 183A and TX 45 hope to ease that frustration when traffic starts flowing on the new roads. TX 45 will make getting from 183 a snap. The last time I drove 620 east to 35 it took me about 15 minutes. Jumping on TX 45 should cut that to 5 minutes. When 183A opens, getting to Leander from the intersection of 183 and 620 will be similar. Current drive time, especially during peak commute time, can take an eternity. With the new tool road, the commute to and from 35 should be a breeze. Time to get to the airport or downtown will be cut dramatically. public opinion on toll roads is all over the place. If I had to make either drive every day, I'd be all for them. Want more info? See an
