Lake Travis more than 35 feet low

Lake Travis actually dropped more until the rains started falling in April.  Thanks to a lot of rain in about 6 weeks over a large geographic area, Lake Travis (from the same spot on May 31, 2007) now looks like this:

Before the rain started falling, Lake Travis had dropped to almost half full, which is around 42 feet below its full level.  The above photo shows the lake slightly above full.  So the lake actually came up around 44 feet over a 5-6 week period.

Lake Travis is just west of Austin and winds just over 63 miles through the Hill Country to the northwest.
