The Domain Grows
One of the developers of the Domain is moving forward with a new phase. That includes adding a Whole Foods store, bringing in another high-end department store like the Neiman Marcus and Macy’s that is already in the part of the Domain developed by Simon Properties, securing tenants for the first of several office buildings and additional development. Endevor plans on adding enough living and office space to house 6,000 residents and almost 18,000 office workers. There will be condos, apartments and townhomes for buyers and renters.
Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and a new Nordstroms will be huge draws, but Whole Foods might be even bigger. Whole Foods is almost a tourist destination. Not only do they have a huge variety of just about everything, the stores are laid out in a very attractive way. Walking through the vegetable isles is an experience in itself. There are strange looking things in there I can’t identify without help and it is all arranged like a candy store. The Whole Foods store should be a huge attraction to residents in the Domain. Being within walking distance or a very short drive is a huge deal.
The Domain has literally transformed the face of northwest Austin. What used to be a bunch of flat and boring warehouses is turning into a very vibrant and dynamic community and shopping area. If I was someone who actually liked shopping, I’d be all over that place.
