Austin seems to be all over the news lately, coming out on top 10 lists for all sorts of things.  Golf Magazine ranks the Austin-Round Rock area as the top city in the country for golf in 2007.  Click here for the list.  Real estate guru Barbara Corcoran has Austin as her #1 pick on her up-and-coming cities list.  Click here for Barbara's list.  I posted here about Austin being on the list of top 10 cities for home price appreciation.  Just today I found a post here about Austin being one of the top 10 performing housing markets by REALTOR® Magazine.

I have lived in the Austin area for 20 years and have seen all sorts of lists over time showing Austin as a great place to be, but I haven't seen so many great stories and lists over such a short time period.  In a time during which the national media seems to do almost nothing but trash the country's real estate market, these lists are really great to see - especially for Austin.
