Austin Isn't Always Hot
I have had a number of people from outside of Texas ask me lately about the weather here. It seems that people from the north and from coastal California think it is always hot here. Below is a table I put together with data from one of the local TV stations. The table shows average high and low temperatures per month (in Farenheit) as well as monthy rainfall averages. As with anything, averages don't show extremes, but this should be good background for any of you who are wondering...
Month | Avg. High (F) | Avg. Low (F) | Avg. Rain |
January | 60 | 40 | 1.89 |
February | 65 | 44 | 1.99 |
March | 73 | 51 | 2.14 |
April | 79 | 58 | 2.51 |
May | 85 | 65 | 5.03 |
June | 91 | 71 | 3.81 |
July | 95 | 73 | 1.97 |
August | 96 | 73 | 2.31 |
September | 90 | 69 | 2.91 |
October | 81 | 60 | 3.97 |
November | 70 | 49 | 2.68 |
December | 62 | 42 | 2.44 |
