Lake Travis High School Interact Club Fundraiser to benefit Victims of Hurricane Ike
The Lake Travis High School Interact Club, a community service club, is holding a coin drive to raise money to send to the American Red Cross to benefit victims of Hurricane Ike. This is being done at the high school over the next 10 days, but you can help in another way.
Interact is also holding a car wash. Most of the proceeds will be used to replenish club funds and part will go to the Red Cross. A minimum $5.00 donation is asked, but feel free to give more. Even if you don't need a car wash, feel free to drop by and donate. The car wash will be held on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The location is 1927 Lohman's Crossing in Lakeway, which is .7 miles down Lohman's Crossing from RR 620. Click HERE for details.

On another note, I was at the high school this morning (9-23-08) to be with the Interact Club officers and faculty adviser. Fox 7 News was out to do a story on Lake Travis High School and Interact was chosen to be the highlighted club. In another year that is almost all about football at LTHS, I love that Fox is featuring a club that is dedicated to community service. Why was I there? Interact is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lakeway-Lake Travis and I am the Rotary adviser to Interact at LTHS.
