Rain and Wrecks in Austin
It is raining. So? So it hasn't rained in a while and you know what that means - automobile accidents. I attended day 1 of Pubcon at the Norris Conference Center today. I saw 2 wrecks in the morning on 2222 and one on the way home in the afternoon. The part of this road between Four Points (RR 620) and Mopac isn't pretty when it rains after a dry spell. The dust and other stuff on the surface of the road makes for a slick surface when it rains. If the rain isn't heavy enough to run the thin layer of slime off, there will be accidents. I just heard on the news that APD responded to 65 auto accidents just this morning. That was far more than the 9 from last week. Austin drivers - please slow down when it rains.
