Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA)  ranked third worldwide for airports with between 5 million and 15 million passengers.  The study was done by the Airports Council International and ranked airports based on 30 aspects of service for flight departures.  The study involved interviewing a minimum of 1400 people at airports about their experiences.

ABIA saw an increase in passenger count in 2008 of about 2%.  It had just over 9 million passengers in 2008 with Southwest Airlines having the highest passenger count, followed by American, Continental and Delta.  Southwest's passenger count went up over 7% in 2008 while the other top carriers saw a decrease in traffic.

So if you live in Austin or are moving to Austin and travel a lot, ABIA should be pretty smooth compared to some other airports in the country and around the globe.
