I posted about communities out near Lake Travis a few days ago. Today, I will do the same thing, but I will look at Cherry Creek, Buttercup Creek and Circle C homes.  Cherry Creek is in south central Austin.  Buttercup Creek is in Cedar Park, a suburb in the northwest Austin area.  Circle C is a southwestern Austin neighborhood.  These are areas that have seen slower home sales, but prices have held up fairly well except for new construction.  The stats you will see will compare the first quarters of 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Cherry Creek, Buttercup Creek and Circle C home sale stats

My thought about Cherry Creek seeing pretty strong sales is simply that is is so close to downtown and the UT campus.  2009 prices are actually up over 2008 even though the number of homes sold has dropped.  Buttercup Creek is strong probably thanks to 183A being complete.  Not having to drive the old 183 with all the traffic and stop lights makes getting into Austin and over to IH 35 a breeze.  Circle C has remained relatively strong for two reasons.  It is fairly close to downtown and is served by good Austin ISD schools.  That can't be said for most Austin neighborhoods.
