So I just did a Google search for "New Yorkers - Want to Escape New Taxes?" and a post from the Huffington Post came up talking about Rush Limbaugh's response to the Governor's new tax proposal.  Rush lives in Florida, but his show is broadcast from New York.  Rush stated:  "I'm going to look for an alternative studio somewhere outside New York, perhaps Texas -- another no-income-tax state..."  He talked about a place to escape when a hurricane is on the way.  Well, Austin is a great place to head during a time like that.

Well Rush, and anyone in New York who wants to escape the new taxes, Austin is the best place to be in Texas and the Lake Travis area is a beautiful as just about anywhere that has water.  Check out my Lake Travis photos.  This is also a great time to buy a Lake Travis property or other Austin area properties that aren't as expensive as out at the lake.

Austin is far enough from the coast so hurricanes don't do much besides bring a lot of rain and some wind.  We're geologically stable, so we don't worry about earthquakes.  We're technically south of tornado alley so we don't get the super destructive storms.  We are also far enough south so show and ice are minimal worries.  And - as Rush mentioned, Texas has no state income tax.  What can I say, Austin is a great place to be.
