2009 Lakeway July 4th Parade
I have walked in the Lakeway 4th of July parade 4 times over the last 6 or so years. I am always extremely impressed with the number of people in the parade and watching on the streets and sidewalks. I snapped the photos below with my Blackberry camera. The first one was taken just past the starting point. The second was nearing the Lakeway Activity Center, which is where the parade ends.
The parade started this morning at 8:30 and had well over 100 flats and cars in it. I was walking with the Lakeway - Lake Travis Rotary Club. We are about to start our annual Mercedes raffle. We had two cars in the parade showing what people can win. The money we raise after the cost of the car and other costs is used for scholarships for Lake Travis High School students.
