Business Wire came out with a story yesterday about the most popular states in which to live if people could live anywhere they wanted.  Texas was the fourth most popular, with Hawaii, Florida and California coming in ahead of it.  I find two things about this interesting.  First, people don't appear to want to be in places that get snow.  Second, people don't seem to care that California is broke and an expensive state to live in.
