I found a library of photos from when Mansfield Dam was built.  Construction started in 1937 and was completed in the early 1040s.  Mansfield Dam is the only dam on the Colorado River in Central Texas built for flood control.  Lake Travis, which was created when Mansfield Dam was finished, can store as much as 260 billion gallons of water.  The photos are pretty fun to look at if you know what the lake looks like now.  Check them out here.
