2010 Austin Parade of Homes

I went to a breakfast at the sales office at Rough Hollow earlier this week to learn about the Home Builder Association of Greater Austin 2010 Parade of Homes.  The 2010 Parade will be in Rough Hollow, a newer community in Lakeway.  The Parade will run the first 3 weekends in November next year.  The 2010 Parade will feature relatively affordable homes compared to the 2008 Parade, which was also in Rough Hollow.  The 9 homes to be built will be in the $750,000 to $1.4 million price range.

The homes to be built for the 2010 Parade are expected to be between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet in size.  They will be on Bisset Court in The Bluffs section of Rough Hollow.  Some of the lots are on what the developer calls the rim, which means they are on the lake view side of Bisset.  The view looks right down the Rough Hollow Cove of Lake Travis.

Each builder will have a plan, but that plan will be subject to modification or complete change.  The desire this year is to have all homes pre-sold before the Parade starts.  One thing the builders have decided to do this year is to pass on all discounts they get from their suppliers to buyers.  Parade homes tend to have the latest and greatest of just about everything and suppliers tend to discount their wares in order to be seen in Parade homes.

Seven Custom Homes plans to build around a 4,000 square foot home with 4 bedrooms and 4-1/2 bathrooms.  It will be a Texas Hill Country contemporary home and the price will be between $900,000 and $1 million.

Copperleaf Property Group is planning to build a Fredericksburg style home on the lake view side of Bisset.  They are planning a 4339 square foot home that will be price around $1.3 million, but can build something smaller if a buyer come in early enough.

Foursquare Builders is planning a 3,900 square foot home with the master and junior suite on the main floor and another 2 to 3 bedrooms upstairs.  The price is expected to be less than $1 million.

Triton Custom Homes will build on an interior lot and is planning a 3,400 square foot home in the $750,000 to $800,000 price range.  It will be a Lakeway contemporary with clean lines, a stone and stucco exterior and a metal roof.

Other builders that will be featured in the 2010 Austin Parade of Homes will be Jenkins Custom Homes, Echelon Custom Homes, Zbranek Custom Homes and Masters Touch Custom Homes.

Amenities in Rough Hollow include a fitness center, restaurant, pool, marina and covered pavilion.  There will also be 22 miles of hike and bike trails with Phase II of Rough Hollow opens.

Getting to the 2010 Parade of Homes in Rough Hollow is relatively easy.  People will take RR 620 to Lakeway Blvd., turn left at World of Tennis Square and continue on to Highlands Blvd.  Also expected to be open off Highway 71 will be the new section Highlands Blvd., which connects to 71 on what is currently Bee Creek Road.

I will post more about the 2010 Parade when I have additional information.

to clarify -the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin's 2010 Parade of Homes™ at Rough Hollow Lakeway is October 16-31, 2010 - not the first three weekends in November.
