Anxiety in Real Estate Agents
I know that a lot of real estate agents read real estate blogs and I know agents read mine. So I want to address something that many real estate agents can identify with in this market - anxiety. The current economy is bad and many agents have seen huge pay cuts from a year or two ago. I know lot of people in this position. Many agents are practically in a panic about what to to.
Agents need to be aware of their emotions. The need to be able to recognize feelings of anxiety or depression. So agents, are you experiencing any of these symptoms of anxiety?
Difficulty sleeping?
Racing thoughts?
A feeling of constant nervousness that doesn't seem to have a cause?
Difficulty concentration?
Lightheadedness or dizziness?
Do you feel lethargic?
If you are feeling any of these, you may be suffering from mild anxiety. If so, you need to treat it. I'm not saying that you need to rush to your doctor, but you need to take action so your anxiety doesn't get worse.
So what can you do to address mild anxiety? Maintain a healthy diet, exercise, get enough sleep, spend time with upbeat and positive people. Many churches will have groups you can join. You can also do breathing exercises or meditation to help you relax.
Anxiety is a learned thing. As such, it needs to be unlearned. If you are feeling financially pinched because of the state of the real estate market and this is causing anxiety, do something about it.
For those of you expecting to read about real estate, sorry to disappoint, but I thought this was important to address.
