Whole Foods and Electric Car Charger
Whole Foods is brilliant. They recently added electric car charging stations at their downtown Austin location. Think about it - being plugged in for an hour or two really won't add much of a charge. With a 110 volt charger, cars should be plugged in overnight to get a really good charge. So why is this brilliant? I listened to people on a radio talk show talk about this for 30 minutes yesterday. It has been in newspapers and in radio and TV news stories. How much would advertising time and space like this cost? A whole lot of money. The charging stations will provide a small benefit to shoppers, but gave and will continue to give Whole Foods loads of free publicity. If they do this in other locations, they will get loads more great and free PR. Brilliant!
