I had a pleasant surprise when I checked the mail this afternoon.  I got my property tax appraisal and saw that the assessed value for my Apache Shores property was 15% less than it was last year.  The value is now the lowest it has been since 2006.

Looking at some statistics from the MLS and looking at my neighbors’ assessed values, I think Travis County was pretty fair this year.  From the research I did up and down my street it looks like just about everyone saw a drop of 10-15% in assessed value.
