The Austin City Council has selected Trammell Crow, Constructive Ventures and USAA Real Estate Co. to buy the Green Water Treatment Plant in downtown Austin. Constructive Ventures will erect 2 towers somewhere from 400-500 feet tall. They will house 450 condominiums. This will be a process as the Austin Energy electric grid is currently managed out of the building and it will need to be moved. Construction on the condo towers will most likely start in 2013.

Downtown condo sales have been slow with more units being available than buyers for them.  There is a great deal of competition among developers to get units sold.  That being said, the people developing the condos must see good things ahead.
