Why Do I Blog?
I started this Austin Real Estate Guy Blog back in November, 2006. There were several reasons for me to start blogging. One was to enhance my search engine optimization efforts. Another was to put quality information out there for people interested in Austin real estate. But why does anyone in real estate really blog? We want to generate leads. After all, this is a business.
I have gotten phone calls at times from people who have told me that they were just reading my blog. Others probably found a blog post depending on what they did a search for and then jumped over to my Austin real estate website. Some of these people turn into actual leads, some remain as cool prospects and many vanish without a trace. One thing that I have found to be very true is that people looking for homes on the internet do not want to be contacted by an agent. It is like wanting to go to a car dealership and not wanting to be jumped by a sales person right away. Internet shoppers want to do things on their terms. So I don’t go after people aggressively if they register on my website to look at Austin homes. In general I will wait for a phone call or email.
So just want am I getting at? I want your business and that of people you know. If you are a regular reader of the Austin Real Estate Guy Blog, I would love a referral. If you know of anyone needing to buy or sell a house, I would welcome a phone call or an email.
