Whole Foods Coming to the Hill Country Galleria Mall in Bee Cave

Can you believe it?  The rumor that has been floating around for 3 years is coming thrue.  Whole Foods will open a store in the Hill Country Galleria Mall in 2012.  Area residents have been talking about a Whole Foods or Central Market coming to the area for a while now.

One rumor had a Central Market or H-E-B out Hwy 71 near Pace Bend Rd.  Another had a store in Lakeway off RR 620.  None of those happened.  Many residents of Lakeway, Bee Cave, Steiner Ranch and Spicewood will welcomd the new grocery store to the area as current Whole Foods stores are quite a drive from the area.

The city of Bee Cave will welcome another source of revenue and the Galleria will love another huge anchor tenant.

Very cool to see Whole Foods open a store in that area. I have a few friends that live in steiner ranch that faithfully shop at whole foods. Im sure they are ecstatic about this.

Swell so looks like the sunflower market across the street will once again be a vacant building.

Wonder if whole foods is getting free rent and free build out like the rest of the mall?

What a business model

Buy a mall that is foreclosed upon.

Give everyone free rent.

Build out for free.

Economy has not and will not recover.

Investors in the worst business model go BK and the mall turns into a ghost town.

Not to say it is not already a ghost town besides the Lexus SUV clone moms in the tennis visors/skirts walking up and down buying nothing as they are broke and letting their kids play in the recycled fountain water.

Some things are just too funny sad they can longer use their homes as atm machines :(

So Jojo, you sound pretty pessimistic.  Our economy will come around eventually and the mall will thrive, but when will that be?  Having a hospital out here will really help.
