Lakeway Hospital Update – November 2011
I have posted about the Lakeway Regional Medical Center a few times before, but never had first-hand information until now. I heard the hospital's CEO speak recently and here are some highlights:
The hospital will be open and fully operational in April of 2012.
It will employ around 250 people including 100-125 doctors.
The facility will serve an area from RM 2222, through Lakeway and Bee Cave, past Spicewood and toward Dripping Springs and part way to Austin down Bee Cave Road. This is an area of around 90,000 – 100,000 people and includes the cities, towns and neighborhoods of Lakeway, Bee Cave, Stenier Ranch, Lake Pointe, Falconhead, Apache Shores, Hudson Bend, Spanish Oaks, Vineyard Bay, Costa Bella Briarcliff, part of Dripping Springs and a few more.
The hospital will be 9 stories tall with around 250,000 square feet of space and a helipad.
It will have a 575 space 9-story parking garage.
There will be an on-site ambulance and EMS crew.
The hospital will have 106 beds (all in private rooms), six operating rooms, 2 Cesarean section suites, 18 intensive care rooms, 14 general acute pediatric care rooms and 4 critical pediatric care rooms.
The hospital will also have a $14 million electronic records system so any physician or department, as well as the pharmacy, can have instant access to records.
By the hospital will be a 54,000 square foot medical office building that will primarily contain physicians.
